Home / Poundland helps all interested parties feel good too

On the whole I would say that the Directors at Poundland deserve their success.

They have genuine smiles and most seem ready to agree that the store is doing everyone a favour; high streets have less vacant space, shoppers get to shop on a budget, jobs are created, suppliers have another outlet and of course, shareholders make a profit. I would invest in them but not necessarily for the reasons above.

I listened to Jim McArthy, CEO this morning and he sounded cheerful and open to ideas but also knew where he stood on various matters which makes him a good leader and decision maker. He talked humbly about the huge increase in profits and made it clear that shareholders were a high priority to them.

What was special about his interview was that he also made landlords, employees, shoppers and suppliers feel special too and that means that growth will be sustainable and steady, a rare commodity these days.
